At Crossroads Church, providing a safe and joy-filled community for the children you love is a privilege we don’t take lightly. Frankly, welcoming our little ones into the Kingdom of God is something we look forward to year-round!
Because children belong to God and are given by grace as gifts to those who love them, it is only proper and appropriate that your children be dedicated back to God. So at Crossroads, we encourage our families with young children to express their full appreciation to God through our Child Dedication.
We are told in 1 Samuel 1, that Hannah presented her son, Samuel, to the Lord. In Luke 2:22, we read that Mary and Joseph brought Jesus to the temple in Jerusalem to present him to the Lord, as well. In the same way, we encourage you to bring your children to the Lord. Dedicating a child acknowledges God’s sovereignty not only over the child, but also over those who love him or her. Families present their child before God and His people asking for grace and wisdom in carrying out their responsibilities, praying that their child may one day trust Jesus Christ as their own Savior.
While some Christian ministries baptize babies with water, we reserve water baptisms for those who can make this decision for themselves.
