Bible Studies

Following are some of our favorite online resources to compliment your spiritual journey.

All About God

All About God is the Christian community for seekers, skeptics, and believers. We write compelling stories that reach out to skeptics, seekers, believers and a hurting world with powerful evidence for God and the Good News of Jesus.

Starting with God

If this were a religion you could expect someone to give you all sorts of Rules. Rituals. Requirements. But when you asked Jesus into your life, you did not join a religion. Instead, you began a relationship with God, and that’s pretty amazing.

Prayers

Christian prayers & creeds used at Crossroads Church.

APOSTLES' CREED
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth,
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into hell.
On the third day, He rose again from
the dead. He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God
the Father Almighty. From there He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit the
Holy Christian Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
Amen.

THE LORD'S PRAYER
(The prayer as it occurs in Matthew 6:9-13)
Our Father in heaven, hollowed be your name.
Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our doily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also hove forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the p

SERENITY PRAYER
God grant me the serenity to accept
the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
(Although known most widely in its abbreviated form above,
the entire prayer reads as follows .. .)
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is,
not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.

PRAYER OF REPENTANCE
If you are ready to ask Jesus to become the Lord of your life here is a suggested prayer. This is not a ritual based on specific words, but rather a prayerful guideline for your sincere step of faith.
Father, I know that I have broken Your laws and  my sins have separated me from You.
I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward You. Please forgive me, and help me turn away from sin.
I believe that Your Son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward.
Thank You for sending Your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life.
In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
Congratulations!
Welcome to the family of God!

THE WELCOMING PRAYER
By Father Thomas Keating
Welcome, welcome, welcome. I welcome everything that comes to me today because I know it's for my healing. I welcome all thoughts, feelings, emotions, persons, situations, and conditions. I let go of my desire for power and control. I let go of my desire for affection, esteem, approval and pleasure.
I let go of my desire for survival and security.
I let go of my desire to change any situation, condition, person or myself.
I open to the love and presence of God and God's action within. Amen.

MAKE ME AN INSTRUMENT OF YOUR PEACE
By Francis of Asissi
Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy.
O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; it is in dying that we are born again to eternal life.

CHRIST HAS NO BODY
By Teresa of Avila (1515-1582)
Christ has no body but yours,
No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes with which He looks Compassion on this world,
Yours are the feet with which He walks to do good, Yours are the hands,
with which He blesses all the world.
Yours are the hands,
yours are the feet,
Yours are the eyes,
you are His body.
Christ has no body now but yours,
No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes
with which He looks
compassion on this world.
Christ has no body
now on earth but yours.

JESUS' PRAYER FOR US
Jesus in John 17:2G-26
My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one—I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.

PRAYER OF QUIET TRUST
(The prayer taken from Psalm 131.)
0 Lord, my heart is not lifted up; my eyes ore not raised too high; I do not occupy myself with things too great and too marvelous for me.
But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; my soul is like the weaned child that is with me.
Hope in the Lord from this time on and forevermore.

PRAYER OF BARTIMEAUS
or THE JESUS PRAYER
O Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God,
have mercy on me, a sinner.

PRAYER OF INDIFFERENCE
Here am I, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your word. God's will nothing more, nothing less, nothing else.
